Lantern Organization

With over 25 years of experience in supportive and mixed-income housing, Lantern has earned a reputation as a trusted community partner. Their work goes beyond bricks and mortar, Lantern, is committed to creating spaces where individuals and families don’t just live, but truly thrive.

The Lantern brand distinctive is partnership between investors and local communities. The goal of our rebranding efforts was to reflect both these missions and create a strong visual identity that fosters a feeling of trust and approachability.

Where Design Meets Opportunity to Shine

With such a unique mission, the branding had to strike a careful balance — avoiding the overly institutional feel of corporate real estate while not leaning too heavily into a traditional non-profit aesthetic. The result is a visual identity that reflects Lantern’s core values and resonates throughout the entire system, creating a sense of coming together to build something bold, strong, and deeply human.

Website Developed To Form Partnerships

Openbox9 partnered with Lantern to craft a digital presence that would communicate their mission, attract partners, and serve the communities they support. From strategy to launch, our goal was to build more than just a website — we set out to create a platform that inspires trust, engages the community, process, and showcases the real impact of Lantern’s work.

A Brand Strengthening Neighborhoods

Lantern’s social service subsidiary, Lantern Community Services combines affordable housing with personalized support to meet the needs of the people they serve. Their work helps individuals and families find stable homes and build strong foundations for long-term well-being. Lantern’s impact goes beyond housing — they strengthen neighborhoods through programs in arts, culture, education, recreation, technology, health, and nutrition. The visual brand supports this.

Every person deserves safety and stability. Every person deserves recovery and growth.
